How much time do you suppose a writer of a full page advertisement (aka, a copywriter) spends on that project? I can tell you that they spend a lot – a whole lot – of effort to produce a successful ad that grabs the attention of their target audience.
Why? Because there is a lot of money riding on the quality of that ad. It is typically either going into a newspaper or magazine, or it will be mailed to a prospect list. That’s why every paragraph, every sentence and every word is scrutinized until the ad is polished.
Now…how about your resume. Is it any less important? Not to your career nor to your potential to maximize your income. This is a good thing to keep in mind as you begin creating or updating your resume.
Know that doing it right takes some time and effort, but that the payoff will come!
